A complete engine service in one box

Fresh oil poured into a sludgy engine starts with ballast: old deposits dissolve into it within the first few kilometres. And when the injectors are coked, even the best oil does not fix fuel consumption. MG Red Shift Car SPA Diesel puts three products together in the order you actually use them during an oil change.

You do not have to pick additives or work out what goes in when. Open the box and follow three steps: the lubrication system is cleaned out, the fresh oil gets its additive, and the injection system stays clean.

Three steps, one oil change

1. Before the oil change: Engine Flush. Add it to the old oil and let the engine idle for 15–20 minutes. The deposits stay in suspension and leave the engine with the used oil.
2. During the oil change: oil and Engine 300 ml. Drain the oil, replace the oil filter, pour in fresh oil and add the whole bottle of MG Red Shift Engine 300 ml (treats up to 5 litres of oil).
3. At your next fill-up: Injection Cleaner Diesel. Pour the 250 ml can into the tank before refuelling. It covers 60 litres of fuel and works while you drive normally. It lubricates the injectors and removes deposits that distort the injection spray in Common Rail systems.

Engine oil and an oil filter are not included. You need them for step 2.

Why the Diesel version: lubrication and clean injectors

Common Rail injectors work under enormous pressure with tolerances measured in microns, and today’s low-sulphur diesel gives them far less natural lubrication than older fuels. Deposits on the nozzles distort the injection spray, which means hard cold starts, rough running, smoke and rising consumption. Injection Cleaner Diesel lubricates the injectors and removes deposits, while Flush and Engine prepare and protect the lubrication system at the oil change.

The kit is designed for diesel engines (including Common Rail) holding up to 5 litres of oil, which is one bottle of Engine 300 ml. If your engine takes more oil, add one extra bottle of Engine per 5 litres; Engine also comes in 500 ml and 1 l bottles.
